Aaron Gordon is a versatile player in the NBA, with interests in travel, fashion, painting, watches, and wine. He grew up in San Jose, California, and was exposed to the richness of Napa Valley through his father's work at Beringer Vineyards. After a star freshman season at the University of Arizona, he was drafted by the Orlando Magic. While there, he took a trip to France with his brother and sister that inspired him to begin collecting wine. Today, his house in Denver holds a tightly curated selection of bottles, spanning Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, South African reds, excellent Barolos, and a little Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for good measure. He enjoys opening his prized vintages with friends, including former NBA player Drew Gooden and current Nuggets player Tim Hardaway Jr. Gordon's favorite regions include South Africa, where he brought back some Cabernets that formed the foundation of his collection. He is evolving into a 'bring-my-own' guy, inspired by his friend DeAndre Jordan's cool case by Rimowa. Gordon's tastes have evolved since he began collecting more seriously, and he now prefers red wine, particularly Barolos, over Pinot Noir. He enjoys pairing his wine with red meat, such as steak, and doesn't mind a buttery Chardonnay or a bright Sauvignon Blanc.
